Matt Smidebush, MBA
Matthew Smidebush holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Recreation & Sports Management, as well as a Masters of Business Administration, both from University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
Smidebush started his professional journey at the University of Texas, where he was on the Sales, Service, and Retention team. There, he excelled by generating close to $400,000 in new revenue through outbound calls, personal prospects, face-to-face appointments, and referrals. He ranked in the top 5 of 28 sales/service reps on the team in overall revenue generated.
Following his sales experience, he performed a variety of roles in operations for the football programs at the University of Houston (Assistant Director of Football Operations), the University of Texas (Director of Football Operations), and Florida Atlantic University (Chief of Staff). In each role, he oversaw a department of upwards of 300 individuals made up of many smaller departments under his oversight. Smidebush would serve as the Head Football Coach’s “right hand man” overseeing the budget, connecting department heads, supervising the organizations team travel, and most importantly, serving as the liaison to the athletic department interacting daily with the Athletic Director and Deputy AD. Smidebush also successfully completed large scale capital projects during his time in college football serving as the football main point of contact to architects/contractors from the design phase through the building phase. This includes the new state of the art $200M University of Texas “Tex Moncrief” South End Zone Complex that was completed in 2021 and is the home to the Longhorns football team.
